Contributing to the body of knowledge of a relatively young science is one of the elements of our mission.
We use the output of research in our daily practice and developed the expertise of our team and the quality of the products and services we offer on the basis of applicable outcomes of objective research.
Emergency management is still described by some as a Craft, by others as an Art.
Although there could be some room for personal style and insights, it should become clear to all that Emergency Management is – albeit a very complex – science.
We use any opportunity to embed applied scientific research in our commercial projects.
And we have the ambition to team up where possible with academic centres to be able to engage in fundamental research.
The history of CEMAC started with a research project into atmospheric dispersal of hazardous materials during chemical incidents and we have been involved since then in multiple fundamental and applied research projects both at a national level as well as internationally.
Currently our main focus of interest and activities lies in the field of structure decision making, information management, small group dynamics, uncertainty and the link with team performance and the balance between analytics and process drive decision making.
